Marion Anderson celebrated in Danbury for Black History Month

Danbury Connecticut, lovingly referred to as the "Hat Capitol" was home to two musical greats, one was Charles Ives, the other, Marion Anderson. She was one of the greatest contraltos of the twentieth century, the woman who broke the color barrier at the Metropolitan Opera.
