'Orange Is The New Black' author Piper Kerman to speak at Smith College

Fans of the Neflix series, " Orange is The New Black, " can hear first hand from Piper Kerman , a Smith College graduate and author of the memoir on which the award-winning series is based. Kerman, a 1992 graduate of Smith, who ended up serving 13- of a 15-month sentence for drug trafficking and money laundering in the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Conn., will talk with book critic Bethanne Patrick about her advocacy work, highlighting the conditions of incarcerated women, on Oct. 2, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., in John M. Greene Hall.
