She was a grandmother at 21 and a great-grandmother two years later. She was married to an Austrian count, played cello with the Vermont Symphony, and came to Danbury some 30 years ago in the back of a Volkswagen Beetle, crammed beside two Malamutes and most of her worldly possessions.
