SATs indicate wealth more than knowledge, officials say

Three area schools -- Ridgefield , Joel Barlow and Newtown -- ranked among the top 20 in the state, while Danbury was 109th with a combined score of 1,454. Darien High School Class of 2014 pulled a score 1,799 when math, reading and writing are combined, the highest in the state.
