Danbury tree lighting tradition continues Saturday

When downtown leaders surveyed the Library Plaza area for an evergreen tree suitable for a grand holiday tree lighting, none really stood out. "We put lights all through that big oak and we have these lights that look like icicles moving on it," said Patricia Hembrook , the managing director of City Center Danbury , a group that is working to revive Main Street's economy and culture.
