State Rep. Dan Carter and state Sen. Michael McLachlan, both Danbury Republicans, will be volunteering to ring the bell for the Salvation Army to raise money for needy residents at the Danbury Wal-Mart on Wednesday, Dec. 17. This will be the second year Carter is ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. Last year he helped raise $3,209.08, contributing to the $76, 643.28 raised over the past four holiday seasons by the House Republican Caucus for the Salvation Army with the help of Wal-Mart.
