As nationwide protests continue over allegations of excessive force by police in Ferguson, Mo., and Staten Island, N.Y., Danbury has sent a message of its own by firing an officer with a history of brutality complaints. Unlike the incidents in Missouri and New York, where unarmed black men died in confrontations with police, there was no lethal force used and no racial issues involved in the Jan. 14 firing of Danbury police Officer Daniel Sellner .
