Lawmakers push to electrify, expand Danbury train line

A push is underway to improve Metro-North's Danbury Branch by replacing diesel trains with electric ones and extending service to New Milford, Kent and eventually the Massachusetts line. A group of western Connecticut lawmakers, officials and politicians on Wednesday urged the General Assembly to adopt bills they said would grow commuter ridership, foster economic development and encourage people to move to -- or stay -- in the region.
