Rep. Elizabeth Esty cited a Danbury manufacturer Wednesday in her unsuccessful bid to restore full funding for a federal initiative to aid businesses that are a source of high-tech jobs in Connecticut and elsewhere. Hologic, which produces state-of-the-art digital imaging for mammography uses, saved nearly $300,000 and generated $80 million in projected new sales after working with Connecticut's Manufacturing Extension Partnership affiliate, CONNSTEP.
