The party recently hired a pair of top political advisers from Boughton's unsuccessful 2014 bid for governor. Retooling itself after a disappointing showing in the midterm election, including the governor's race, the state GOP brought former Boughton operatives John Kleinhans and Christopher Oliveira aboard this month to serve as the party's respective political director and legal compliance officer.
